Antec P70 Silent, Expandable, Build Friendly

Build Friendliness

Finally the build friendly component to our trifecta, apart from the tool-less entry into the system the drive bays come with tool-less hand fasteners that will let the user spend less time fiddling with tools and risking the inevitable accidental drop of a screw to shuffle around in at the bottom of the case. In conclusion the system is accessible without the need to use tools for quick maintenance and assembly.

The Yin

Now, the ugly. As with every Yang there is a Yin, and whilst boasting many fine features for the expansive mid level builder, there are some concerns to be aware of before purchasing this case. First of all when completely removing all panel support from the system, the bare skeleton is weak, and very bendy.Antec_P70_Barebones Antec_P70_Back_Panel_InputOutputDuring full assembly or maintenance you should be very careful not to apply excess pressure on any part of the system, a simple palm or finger lean could cause the skeleton to bend.
On subject of cheap structure, taking a look at the 7 expansion ports one will sigh in disappointment to notice that the initial covers are stamped. Yes, stamped, not removable, not dynamic, just a temporary cover that once removed, will leave a hole forever. So make sure your final decisions are set before removing these stamped covers.
The power supply sizing options are limited covering the bottom 20% of the back I/O space on the case, this could be limiting in expansion as some system, especially for overclocked systems which will require higher voltages, requiring bigger PSUs. Finally a personal disappointment, only one color. Yes I can get picky with my options, I’d hate to change my mind on a case because the case doesn’t have a variety in design, especially for such a simplistic visual appeal on this Tower.
