What the Apple guys don't tell you

They are lying to you

Apple makes great stuff, I'm not going to lie. But what they do even better is advertise. Many of you have seen the Mac vs PC ads and are probably convinced without a doubt that OS X is an invisible operating system that is problem free - nothing crashes and the BSOD will never happen. I'm here to tell you today that all of this is a lie. While OS X is, in general, definitely more stable than Windows, programs do crash and lock up quite a bit (relatively speaking). There is not a "blue screen" per say, but there are kernel panics and they can be just as bad and happen quite a bit to people that upgraded to Leopard when it was first released (sound familiar?).

It's still a computer

If you are one of those people who are convinced that you don't know anything about computers, what makes you think that you are going to know things once you switch to Mac? Like PCs, Macs require time and patience. If you don't have these, the only difference you are going to see is that your ignorant computer experience will now include flashy graphics and a cool minimize graphic.

Conclusion

A quick talk with anyone in an Apple store can quickly lead you to believe that the Mac is an godly piece of equipment with not a single error; it's so easy to use that in the time you normally get your work done you could have also made a movie in iMovie with a custom soundtrack you made in GarageBand. This is not entirely true, and I set out to end these lies. Do your research before switching to a mac - don't talk to a salesman.
