Pepcom Digital Experience 2008

The Digital Experience:

Each year Pepcom has provided a media focused event called Digital Experience. TechwareLabs was there for the last few years to provide coverage of the vendors and the event. This year Digital Experience was held at Cesears Palace and was an amazing event. With more than 900 official press and media attending this years event it was not only packed by the media but also the companies.

Participants in recent events include AMD, Adobe, Brother, Canon, Casio, Dell, eBay, Energizer, Epson, Fujifilm, Gateway, HP, Intel, IBM, Imation, Kodak,
Konica Minolta, Lexmark, LG, Maxell, Microsoft, Microtek, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Netflix, Nextel, Nikon, Nokia, Olympus, Palm, Panasonic, Pinnacle, Pioneer, Planar, Ricoh, RIM, Rio, Samsung, Sanyo, Sirius, Sony Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Sprint, Toshiba, ViewSonic, Xerox, XM Radio, and many more.

We were able to view the new Dell "Crystal" monitor as well as Alienware's new super widescreen monitor and take a look at a thousand new products by many different companies. The trend among these companies seemed to be on bringing different media to you in whatever format you need. Services that offered customized automatic media content based on your cell phone, pda, or pc and type of program were offered as free. It's obvious that the companies offering this media were definitely making money on advertising.

Pepcom did the event right and the staff was helpful, the food was great, and for many attendees there was a full service open bar at every intersection. We would like to personally thank Sandisk, CoolIT Systems, Vonage, Sony, and PNY for taking the time to speak to us about their new products.

So what should you be excited about?

CoolIT Systems as usual has some unique products in line for you that include a fully sealed water system which according to them offers cooling equivilant to a full 120mm radiator and only takes up two 5.25" bays. Did we mention it looks very cool and doesn't cost a fortune. Not to mention not having the hassle of worrying about leaks or filling it. We will have a spotlight on this company later today after we have the chance to take a closer look.

Sandisk has some very high end, relatively low cost SSD drives and USB storage disks to look out for.

Our Gallery has a full lineup of pictures from this event.

Alienware will be brining new laptops with a refreshed look and interface to customers soon and the Dell Crystal is just damn sexy.
