Paragon Disk Manager 2008 Suite

title

Securely Dispose of Hard Disk

The "Securely Dispose of Hard Disk" allows you to completely wipe out all data on a disk in order to be sure that no data is able to be recovered by anyone who uses the drive later. We did run through a disk wipe and ended up with a drive without any partitions, which is what the tool is designed to do. Now without the tools that some of the drive recovery companies have to recover data from hard drives for a large sum of money we were not to completely verify that the disk was wiped to the point no tool could recover data.

Advanced Options

Partitioning and hard disk management
This option is very useful for those of you who want to resize a partition on your system to include the entire size of the disk or to create another partition to store your backups for the primary OS partition.

Manage Backup Capsule
This option is to setup a segment of your drive dedicated to the storage of your backups. This option will cut down the size of your drives usable disk space for the OS to use so be warned. We chose to setup a backup capsule for the C: drive. The wizard explained that the C: drive (the only drive in this system) would be resized with 28 Gigs less of disk space in order to store the backup capsule. This was a little bit of a surprise when the process was done when we came to realize the remaining drive space was so much less that we would have to add a second drive in order to add additional software. This would probably not be the scenario if a larger drive is used, however, the more files to backup the more space required by the capsule.

Conclusion

Paragon Hard Disk Manager 2008 suite is nice addition to any user’s software arsenal for managing their PC. The tools in the suite are handy to have available for the backup and management of your PC. A few things such as the defragmenter and the rescue CD could use some refining to make them a little more user friendly and improve their resulting performance of a system.
