Technology:
For most budget boards you typically don’t expect them to be loaded with new technology, but that didn’t stop Biostar from giving the consumer the biggest bang for their buck. With PCIe M.2 you can get data transfer rates up to 1000MB/s (PCIe x2) and it’s also compatible with SATA interface M.2, up to 6Gb/s. This is specifically designed for higher performance SSD’s.
Biostar also added a dual GbE LAN which is used for doubling the bandwidth, allowing a network bandwidth of 1G to become that of 2G, and with two high-speed gigabit networks plus zero packet delay that provides super high data transmission efficiency. Another major advantage is load balancing, allowing users to attach both network adapters to a single network. Speed isn’t the only advantage, the two Gigabit Ethernet lightning protection circuits reduces the probability of damage from lightning or other power surges. So just in case one connection fails, the other connection will automatically kick in.
In addition to the things previously mentioned, the Hi-Fi Z97WE comes with 4K2K resolution capability, which enables high-definition image display with four times the resolution of full HD. A feature that’s not to common on boards around this price range. The Hi-Fi Z97WE main focal point seems to be the newly enhanced on-board sound called “Hi-Fi”. Which is a combination of exclusive hardware and software design which includes ground-isolation circuit design, an independent audio power, and an on-board amplifier, giving amazing audio quality and performance. As for the software, Biostar offers you “multi-channel calibration”, which you would normally find in high level sound systems. The included software gives you the ability to easily adjust the volume of all your speakers to create a well balanced surround sound. And of course, with the Hi-Fi Z97WE’s on-board amplifier, you will discover a much more powerful sound compared to other motherboards. Now lets take a look at the boards specs which are listed below.
