BIWIN shows off SSD With New Controller, World First Interview

First on the market is a big deal and even more so when its a hot product like an SSD. BIWIN demonstrated to us their NuvoDrink NX SSD that uses a new controller. BIWIN is the first to market with an SSD based on the Novachips NVS3600A code names “Bugatti”. The NuvoDrive NX boasts some impressive specs including:

• 10 Channel controller
• 80GB, 160GB, 300GB, and 600GB Capacities
• SATA III 6Gbps
• MLC Flash
• Sequential read (Max) 500MB/s
• ATTO Sequential Write (MAX) 518MB/s
• 265MB DRAM Cache

The “Bugatti” uses the standard 7%/7% reservation for firmware and OS for dead chips that many other SSD’s use but it comes in at a low price of approximately $1/GB for what is a high performance drive.
