Say I had up to 500 dollars to spend and I wanted to get the best 17" flat panel monitor I could afford, not necessarily 499.99 but it's a possibility. Where could I find one that would work good for very fast paced games and would also look cool (black).

after looking through all those, this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-164&depa=0) one looks pretty good. and it has a nice 12ms response time

I'll admit, Dell's are very nice looking but they have ghosting due to their 25ms compared to around 10-12 ms
