Soundcard necessary?

Im about to buy a set of Creative T7700 speakers

I have a bulit in sound card on my mobo k8t Neo


Do I need to get an audigy to use it?

aren't those the 7.1? If so, you'll need a ZS or some other 7.1 compatible sound card to be able to utilize the 7.1 capability....

righto thats 300 euro down the drain total (psu speakers and soundacrd)

where does the other $100 come in? (euro's are pretty close to $..)

decided to get http://www.shopireland.ie/electronics/detail/B0000C05JZ/Videologic-ZXR-750-7.1-Surround-Sound/

cheaper and subwoofer is wooden so it works better
