Are there any? I sure haven't been able to find one.

If not, has anybody heard any news on when they might be made available?

Thx.

not yet, and supposedly soon.. but the first batch will likely suck.. like the first p4 batch did and therefore sold like 3 boards... because the pci-x cards out right now are a disgrace to the bus

PCI-X isnt PCI-Express

PCI-X is used in industrial or server grade computers, it has been around for a while and is not the latest technology you have been thinking of

PCI-Express is the new bus that is coming in
at the end of this month and into the next couple of months, 3 vendors will announcing chipsets with support of PCI-Express and soon DDR2 for AMD CPUs

NVIDIA, VIA, SIS

but really, mobos wont arrive until Q1 of next year
according to theinquirer.net that is

i was gonna say, isnt PCI -X found almost exclusively in server boards?

and yes, id be happy to hear of anything in the area of athlon 64s with PCI-E and Sata. speaking of which, anybody know anything about BTX coming out, like when or even if?

no clue.. it's like hl2.. was supposed to be out in summer but now it looks like next year.. gateway already has a BTX comp...

ive already seen a few working BTX systems in the summer
some have PCI-E

AOpen had a running system at computex
foxconn had a picoBTX board on display as well

i took some pics
its in the thread on here named Computex pics or something

BTX isnt that much better since some case designs such as Lian Li PCV1000 has a flipped design so that mobo is mounted upsidedown and gives better input airflow to CPU

and since AMD isnt going that road anyday soon, case makers arent gonna start putting designs into factories this year probably

gateway already has a btx comp... Intel will make AMD go there eventually, since it's their technology of course. As soon as a good BTX setup is availible at a decent cost, i'm there...

Judging by Intel's history, as long as Intel is the only one on BTX, don't count on a decent price...

Like USB and AGP, it'll come around eventually and everyone will wish they had sooner

USB isn't Intel specification. PCI Express will completely toast AGP in future revisions. I don't ever want BTX.

it doesnt matter that gateway has BTX or whatever
they are just a system integrator that doesnt sell mobos by itself or cases or powersupplies to people

i wonder when will graphics cards eats up AGP8x bandwidth and comes to a point that PCI-E is a must to overcome that bottleneck...

we said that about agp 4x not too long ago too...

yeah, but if it works for now ill upgrade to it. after they release the allinwonder x800xt or something. i like my multimedia cards. im not gonna go with BTX for a while tho. of course, i may just build a whole new system and sell my urrent one. im not sure yet.

The point is, however, that on November 7th, they'll push it back to November 21st.
