i am far from a l337 programmer, but i thought somthing like a scripting challenge would be cool.
like, you - staffers or whatnot give the contestants an objective for the script. then give them a language to use, or maybe a choice. then a deadline. choose the winners by however you want to judge them by. prizes or names listed on the main site, moderator/admin status (/jk), or whatever would be cool.
just thought i'd throw that out there.

we dont have enough people with programming knowledge for that kinda thing

really? think we have enough at least some kind of prog knowledge who would want to give it a shot, or wants to learn through this? i have a decent grasp on PHP, ASP.NET, and JavaScript. I think i'm pretty stinkin good with ColdFusion. but if you go with the free stuff (PHP, JavaScript) people may want to try it to learn.
i know we may not have people on the board, but what about visitors to the site?

A scripting challenge would be awesome, I personally think. Uranium235 is right, though; we have very few coders/scripters here. This could be a good way of getting some more knowledgeable people here.

it would have to be well publicized... but I disagree with the idea in that the average joe can't just start up a program and start coding, like I did with the other contest in just starting photoshop (and I'm prety noob at it.. )
