Low teck (ie. marker/electrical tape) defeats high tech cactus shield and key audio Music CD copy protection. SPAMI Love this stuff . SPAMhttp://www.theregister.co.uk/content/54/25274.html

Oh and I forgot to mention if you put any of the Protected Audio CD's in an Imac without the work arounds it locks the CD Drive and you have to take it to the shop. SPAMThat's right you put the new CD in your IMAC straight out of the Jewel case with no modification and your IMAC will eat it and will not release it. SPAMI don't know enought about IMAC's to know if a good hardware hacker could remove it but on first guess I'm sure a cutting torch would remove the offending CD.

i second that uranium-235, and yeah you put any type of protected media and connect the output to a recorder it defeats the whole technology.

yea... an example of 1 of the new protected CDs is celine dion's latest album (and no i dont know from first hand experience.. i just read /. :P)
