Hey, I just recieved my new mx518 along with my new miniITX mobo.. here are my thoughts:

the boxes.. meh so far..

*Testing done on RatPadz GS*

Looks
"Wow" was my first reaction to this upon opening.. really cool holographic like design on the mouse. Same shape/shell as the mx500/510 also, so that's a good thing.. those mice were very comfy, so you are assured that you will get no cramps from the 518.

Feel
haha, oh man.. this thing is sooooooo light. I can just tell holding it my first time thats its much lighter than a mx500 and seems a tad bit lighter than a mx510. This is very good for gamers as well: less drag = less glade/teflon

Software
SetPoint drivers v2.3 were included in the CD but I skipped those for the 2.31's over @ logitech's site. After software installation and a quick reboot , I began to play around with the DPI quick set buttons which were very cool. In windows i was switching modes with a push of a button and it was nice adjusting sensitvity without going in the control panel. The three DPI modes are 400, 800, and 1600. On the fly buttons are located above and below the scroll wheel.

Gaming
This was the big test; the main event. I started up Counter-Strike Source and joined my fav local server. Starting out on the highest dpi, this thing was awesome.. VERY accurate, I was amazed. It had the precision of the new Razors. After a few frags I decided to snipe, so I bought my Scout and ran to the usual sniper camping spot for ct's on de_dust. I spotted some Terrorist scum jogging in the underpass and I zoomed in and lowered my DPI... WOW.. pin point accuracy.. I killed 2 of them until one came out of the tunnels and caught me zoomed in

Final Conclusion
Great mouse overall. Whether surfing round the net or playing a game.. this mouse is VERY nice. You can't go wrong with a retail price of $50 either; You are getting a nice array of features fot that price. I would give this mouse a good 9/10 stars.

PROS
-Light
-Accurate; 1600 dpi accurate..
-same construction as the mx510.. which is a good thing.
-on the fly DPI adjustment

CONS
-umm... the box could be better?
-could be argued that a wireless version would have been nicer.

some more pics.. and my new mini-itx mobo for my NESpc project :D

well done, but i'd proofread for typos next time.. and $50 for a corded mouse is a lot.. that should have been a con

1600 DPI mice are hard to come by period
I like the box...
The DPI adjuster also seems like a neat idea, but I think it'd get annoying to use and in the way and end up more harm than good
