Ventrillo and problems with my mic

OK this is my problem i have bought 3 new mics in the past couple weeks and this problem keeps persisting so i think it mite be my sound card. I have a Creative Labs Live soundcard 24 bit (7.1) When i use ventrillo to talk to my clan mates for BF2 all they hear is a loud screeching sound and then they yell at me :( has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions on how to fix it?

I suggest testing out the mic in sound recorder, see if you can record and hear your own voice. Double check your connections and sound options. I know sometimes the mic comes muted by default, but that can't explain the screeching.

That might be your mic feeding back off the speakers try it when your far away from them, if its not them then im not sure but iv got a few sound engineer mates who i'll ask.
