Default Google takes on You Tube

Looks like Google and Google Video are going to take on You Tube.

Google Video will host video of ANY SIZE. There are no limitations. So upload that high-resolution video and store it with google to your heart's content.

You can see the upload guidelines here:

Well I did use youtube more, but a no-size limit seems amazing, yet very suspicious

Apparently AOL has a similar service to YouTube now called AOLUncut. Everyone is trying to get in on the action. However, google always seems to do things bigger and better so we shall see.

Yes, it does seem like it's the new trend; but like you said, Google always end up doing things better (normally "free" )

It should definitely be interesting to see how things develop from here on.

Yeah, I don't see how they can make it unlimited size when youtube can only take 10 minutes of video. Makes me suspicious also.

But more stuff that shouldn't be on youtube seems to slip past and stays there for longer. i imagine google will be more fierce with copyright.

They can do it because they have a ridiculous amount of space. Think of all the things Google has on disk. All of the internet cached, images cached, and a lot of other stuff.

They have a ton of resources to throw at this. Obviously there will be some practical limitations because copyrights and such, so the average video is not going to be 3 hours.
