Recently Techwarelabs became aware that Buy.com was not fulfilling orders for low priced items that were already paid for.

Such as the Seagate Pocket Drive shown below:

As you can see the item shows in stock and ready to ship in 1-2 days. To test this news and report to our readers we placed an order on April 4th 2007 for this same drive and used Google Checkout. We were billed immediately and received our confirmation from both Google and Buy.com in 1 hour. The order went through "verification" to "sent to warehouse" within 1 day and then . . . nothing happened. We have placed 5 different calls and were told we could be given no help, no eta, and no shipment until Buy.com was good and ready which could be weeks or months.

Essentially what has happened was that anyone placing orders in this manner has given their name, e-mail, address, and phone number to both Buy.com and Google in exchange for nothing. Thats right you did it for free, and better yet they even charged you to do it.

We know we won't be placing orders through Buy.com until their management of their online stock improves and their policies change. Stay tuned for our update on how Google handles things on their end.
