Default overclocking amd k6-2/550

whats the highest you can overclock a Amd k6-2/550 using air cooling?

Good question. I have a k6-2 500 myself and would like to overclock that to above 550. I'll be intersted to see what peeps say about this.

standard air cooling? i don't think it would go over 600, but maybe if ya remove the alu plate on the chip and put a bigass heatsink directly to the silicium DIE, it will maybe do the 650, 700 is a little unrealistic, this chip is known as a non-overclocker :

My AMD K6-II/550 refuses to go in 600 at least on
an asus P5A not even with 100x6 the best I got it to do
is 574. Posting from it now it is powerful for being a super 7
though.  I am using 115 Mhz FSB x 5  the 120 FSB will
give to high PCI clock.  the 512k cache is nice.
It handles games well with double voodoo IIs
Trying the Crimson Skies demo now without any
problems, quite fun game.
