Gamer's Depot has a great review of the new Intel Pentium 4 1.8 Ghz Review.

Hardware junkies and analysts alike have been keeping a very close eye on the CPU market as Intel and AMD are running a close race in desktop level performance. At the top of the heap for Intel is its recently released 1.8Ghz Pentium 4 processor with the SSE2 instruction-set.
This new chip not only introduces a new clock frequency for Intel, it is also the fastest speed ever released in a widely available medium. We’ve seen Intel’s roadmap, so we know that even 2GHz isn’t too far away. One of the reasons the P4 can be pushed this high in frequency is because of its core. Built from the get-go to break the 2Ghz barrier, the P4 is ensured a long lifeline.
