With the performance crown already in hand AMD went ahead with the release of a 1.6GHz version of their Athlon XP CPU. Dubbed the Model 1900+ this CPU continues to hold the #1 performance spot for AMD while pleasing OEMs with a name that can be pitted against Intel's 1.9GHz Pentium 4.
