View Full Version : Direct X 8.1 Final Released

As I mentioned in the HardwarePub (http://hardwarepub.com) news, the DirectX 8.1 final release is out. SPAMI don't have the links on me, but they're right on the front page of HardwarePub if you want, otherwise it's available at Windows Update easily.

I'm downloading it as I write this, and I'll let you know how performance is. SPAMI made sure to benchmark in Q3:TA right before downloading.

Well, I actually did this many days ago, but I forgot to post the results.

I installed DirectX 8.1 (on my Windows 2000 computer, the specifications of which can be seen in the General board) and experienced a 0.5 fps increase in Q3:TA.

I haven't noticed any change in stability.
