Soyo really hit it big with the first line of Dragon boards, first based on the KT266 chipset and then based on the KT266A revision. The combination of a unique color scheme, high quality integrated peripherals, and topped by first class performance helped the Dragon see a slew of webzine awards. With the release of the KT333, Soyo took its time in releasing the new Dragon, and it arrived a little later than such motherboards as the EPoX or the Gigabyte. However, as the Guinness slogan reminds us, good things come to those who wait, so lets see what the new Ultra revision to the Dragon line has to offer us... Read the rest here! looks like a sweet mobo, with all the integration (especially without giving up any perf). kinda want to do review myself just to play with mobo's.

Greetings,
I have been in the eternal struggle between getting the dragon ultra or the gigabyte 7VRXP.
I cannot for the life of me figure our which performs better. This review says they are almost identical, but in some others the soyo finishes in the lower ends of the KT333 boards. the giga and soyo boards are identical in networking, lan, raid, capabilities, and the only diff is the cool sound on the soyo.
what version board was the gigabyte that benchmarked beside the soyo. 1.0 or 1.1? does it make a diff in performance?
I figure, since the soyo is ~40 more then the giga, and since that would be the cost of getting a 5.1 soundcard to get my good sound, that they are damn close in terms of features/value. If they perform the same i will go with the soyo (and keep the audio onboard). if the soyo is a bit slower, I will go with the giga, and stick a soundblaster in there with the bit of money i save.
Can anybody tell me?
over all the reviews does the soyo fall behind the giga?
what version was the giga used in this review, and would it have made a diff?
HEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
i gotta figure this out!!
thanks
