A shock for gamers after a download:
The installer for GameSpy Arcade 1.09 had been infected with the Nimda virus twice this week, according to GameSpy CEO Mark Surfas (ironically named SPAM:o).
"We were doing some maintenance and we let our guard down," he said. He later stated, "This registers with us as a serious, serious error. We're pretty upset about it. This is not cool."
So far, GameSpy has had no reports of any user being adversely affected by the virus.
Nimda has cost companies over $500 million to companies.
