I recently got my hands on a AMD T-Bird 1 GHz with 266 FSB. SPAMI also got an ASUS A7V-133 board too. SPAMI think I know how to get the board to work at 266 for the FSB but I would like to have some input to see if I'm actually doing it right. All I need to do is basically go to the BIOS and specify the bus speed to 133 for the CPU and also change the speed for the board to 133 as well, right? That would in essence multiply 133 by 2 thus giving me the 266 FSB. SPAMI would appreciate any input on this. SPAMThanks!

i am pretty sure that you have to have a motherboard that supports the 266 FSB cpus. SPAMI am not 100% sure, but i think that you have SPAMto have a motherboard that has the chipset that supports that chip

Yup! The ASUS A7V-133 does support the new T-Birds with the 266 FSB. SPAMI just finished building the machine and all you have to do is designate the CPU frequency to 133 and the DRAM frequency to 133 as well in the BIOS. SPAMOtherwise, the 1GHz chip I used was only recognized as a 750 MHz chip. SPAM

Nope, I haven't overclocked it yet. SPAMI built the comp for a friend and he hasn't settled into his new house yet. SPAMHe's also waiting for his monitor to come in. SPAMSo, once he gets everything I think we'll do that. SPAMI tell you, if you can get one of those Viewsonic P810 21 inch monitors on Ebay...GET IT! SPAMThey go for about $320 USD. SPAMI have the same monitor and I can honestly say that you will not want to go back to the smaller monitors...hehehe.
