I'm going to be using the Abit SPAMKG7-Raid socket A Board with
an AMD 1.4 ghz T-Bird. I would like to keep it under $60 or
close to that. I will be using the Antec SX1030 case

Alpha PAL6035, or PEP66, GlobalWin FOP32, CAK32. SPAMAll have the Delta "Black Label" fan, which moves a lot of air, but is very noisy.

Global Win FOP32-1 is what I use was rated really good....also they have a new copper one but I think it might be close to 60 bucks maybe a little cheaper SPAM??? :P

What is the best way to set up your fans in a case for maximum cooling? SPAMLet's say you have your generic case that has a PS fan blowing out. SPAMOf course the CPU fan is blowing out as well. How would you situate the rear fan and the front fan? SPAMWould you have the rear fan blowing in...onto the CPU and the front fan blowing in or out?

Since the case, or power supply, fan is already blowing outward you want the air to continue to exit the rear of the pc. SPAMThe best scenario would be to add a fan in the back blowing in, and other fan in the back blowing outward. SPAMThis would make continuous air flow over all of the hardware. SPAMThis is what I do on all of my pcs and the case stays nice and cool.

the thermoengine with a 7000 rpm fan is sexy and very efficient. concur with admin on case ventilation. i used a 4" extractor fan blowing out the rear of the case right next to the cpu cooler on my last project and my temps dropped 5 degrees celcius (dont know what that is in F ). interestingly i disconnected the 5" fan at the front of the case when it became annoying (noise) and it did not affect my cpu temps at all ........................ hmmm strange!

Admin...I have never heard of this before. SPAMI have an 80mm fan in the front of my Enlight 7237 case sucking air in and an 80mm fan (higher cfm) in the back under the power supply blowing out. SPAMI have an Abit KT7A-Raid mobo and the thermister rarely reads above the mid 80s F for my 1GHz AMD T'bird. SPAMTell me more about your fan scheme. SPAMAlso, any suggestions on fan adapters or mounting an 80mm fan on my Vantec heatsink? SPAMThe Delta Black Label is driving me crazy, but I don't want to give up the excellent cooling I am presently enjoying either. SPAMWhat do you think?

Well, I have a 80 mm fan blowing in the front and another blowing out the rear of the PC. SPAMOne thing that I recomend is to get a dust filter and put it on the fan blowing in the front. SPAMMy computer used to be full of dust and it was getting hot so I used an air compressor and blew all of the dust out of the case. SPAMI added a dust filter onto the fan and the guts of my comptuer have stayed dust free for 6 months! SPAMDust can kill a comptuer...use this advice.

i installed a large extractor fan on the rear of the case near the cpu cooler. it dropped my temps substancially.
you may be able to do this and then instal a quieter (less cfm)
fan on your cpu cooler and get around the same temps..
your ears will be happy!!

Can anyone recommend any good and QUIET case fans? SPAMI'm really beginning to be annoyed with the humming I hear with my fans. SPAMSo, I think it's time for an upgrade...hehehe.

Tokey...if you have spared no expense with the KG7 mobo and the 1.4 T'bird, why would you be frugal with the cooling? SPAMFrom everything I am reading on the forums and other sites, I would say the Swiftech M462 would be your best bet. SPAMI know it is $79.95 ... and even more with shipping, but all the tech reviews say this is the cooler to have.

By the way, how do you like your KG7? SPAMI would love for you to do an informal review and submit it here on Netsmog...set up, any problems with adding cards, etc. SPAMIsn't the KG7 the new Abit card that just came out? SPAMLet us hear from you. SPAMThanks.

Yea I use the front filters on all the pc's I build it helps for sure . I have one 80 mm fan it the front , one in the back and a blow hole out the top of my case SPAM:o I have a hard drive cooler, blue orb on my 3D card, and dual slot card coolers blow onto it also.....case is nice and cooled. http://www.duboids.f2s.com/images/inside_case.jpg

Personally I would prefer an ethyln glycol {antifreeze} cooling SPAMsystem for a hot CPU. SPAMGet all the heat out and route the coolant lines outside to a small car raidator to disipate the heat so all the noise fans can be relocated next to the neighbors apartment. SPAMBut then again I've allways been one for overkill. SPAMOh Well

Just put your computer in the refrigerator and crack it to the coldest setting. SPAMNext, do some serious overclocking and stuff the frig with cold beer!

Only one last thing to do when freezing the pc - what KIND of beer to stock? Miller time! SPAMDecisions, decisions. I agree on using a liquid coolant wouldn't be such a bad idea, only thing is they are flammable. But I guess if you are careful enough to keep it in proper conditions and containtment. It should it heighten the PC's performance in speed categories. Just make sure that you're not mixing any acids with a base. Bad j00 j00 >.O
