Okay, here it goes. A P3V4X motherboard, a PIII 700 mhz chip, and two sticks of 128 MB RAM. System runs fine. I try to add another two (or one) sticks of 128 MB RAM from the same manufacturer and the system becomes extremely unstable, crashes, locks, etc. I run a Norton diagnostic check and it shows bad memory at address 258748416. All the sticks of memory check out fine in any configuration as long as I only have 256 MB on board. I flashed the bios with an upgrade as suggested by ASUS, the board maker. No good. Does anyone have any other ideas about what I can try?
