About a month ago, I bought a GF2 GTS w/ 32M DDR ram(AGP) to replace my Voodoo3 3000 (PCI). SPAMSence I got it, I can not see any improvement in 3D based games. SPAMHowever, I do see a SPAMspeed increase things that don't require 3D hardware(mainly arcade emulations.)
The only game I realy compaired the cards in was Unreal Tournment. SPAMMy voodoo seemed very smooth, but would lock up when displaying complex graphics, where as the GF2 just is very jerky all the time. SPAMWhat could cause this? SPAMI downloaded Detonator, but the performace droped even more. SPAMI tweaked the bios, but never saw a true improvement, so what could cause this?
Oh, another small problem I had, when I first installed it, I kept getting the no video beep. SPAMI removed the card, and re-installed it, and it worked. SPAMToday, after installing a new fan, I cut my computer one with just power connected to see if the fan was right. SPAMAfter I saw everything was fine, I put it together, and cut it on...I got the no video beep. SPAMAfter messing with the cable for a while, I opened my computer up SPAMand reseted the card, and it worked fine. SPAMWhat could cause this?

Well, although it seems strange, your Voodoo 3 had one advantage in UT: Glide. SPAMI wouldn't think that a GF2 GTS would have problems running UT, but I suppose it's possible. SPAMWhat are the specs of the rest of your system?
Possibly there are residual drivers left over from your Voodoo 3, so if you search your computer for 3dfx and delete the files, and your registry for 3dfx and/or Voodoo and do likewise. SPAMBeware, though, when deleting files and registry entries. SPAMIt's usually a good idea to back up what you're about to delete if you're not sure if you'll be ok without it. SPAMReinstalling UT could theoretically help too.
As for the no video signal, I'm kind of baffled. SPAMThe only thing I can think of is that something is touching the card's contacts (anywhere that has metal and a signal running through it) and shorting it out. SPAMMake sure everything's clear of it next time if it happens. SPAMI suppose it's also possible that the card just became unseated, so make sure you have it in securely, and the bracket screwed in.
By the way, do you still have your Voodoo 3 3000 PCI?

Well there are a couple things that could be holding you back. One is vsync. If this is on it only is as fast as your refresh rate(In 2000 it is 60). You need to set vsync as always off. I would also recomend going to http://www.guru3d.com/files/ and download the Geforce Tweak Utility. Install it and select the fast settings (it will optimize all your settings for you). Let me know if you have any other problems. I guarantee this will get you an extra 30 to 70% increase in fps.
I agree there could be stuff left from the vodoo3
it usually works best if you set it as a standard VGA, turn off
replace graphics card and machine should find the new card
if not set new card as standard VGA and reboot.
It is a good idea to run glsetup.exe (search the web for latest ver.)
I did with my ATI 128 rage 32meg SPAM+ tweaking
bench with a simple 3Dbecnh program increased from
16 to 66 SPAM4x !!!

I had some similar problems when I first got my geforce. Tribes would take forver to start up, and other games would just plain go very slow. I ended up returning about 3 cards (2, nividia and 1 Radeon) till I finally told myself I'm gonna get this last one I got to work (Leadtek GeForce 2 Pro 32M). I tried removing 3dfx tags from the reg. I tried removing anything 3dfx. I would still not work correctly. So In finally, deleted windows. and reinstalled winblows. It finally worked. I just wish I would of done this when I had the asus geforce 2 Pro instead of the leadtek cause of the 35 mhz ram increase on the asus pro.

There isn't anything on the HD for sure. SPAMI had left out what happend when I first got the card...I installed it, and when it finnally began to work, I got illegal operations left and right. SPAMI tried to delete the drivers for the GF2 twice, and my system locked up both times. SPAMThe second time, I reset it, and the HD spun down...and I got no video, or beeps, just a plesent burning smell :o ... SPAMI tried removing the card, using other cards, every thing, but never got anything. SPAMI finnally gave up and just left if for a couple hours, then tried it again...and it worked! SPAMAfter that, I reloaded windows and it worked fine.

Now for the problem at hand, I have tried the Tweaker, but never too indepth, so I'll give that another shot.
And yes, I still have my voodoo, but I'm keeping that thing. SPAMI plan on using it on my backup computer...if I ever make it...

OK, just tried the teaker, and it seems to be full speed on 800x600x16, but once I get up to 1024x768, it begins to slow down alittle.
And somone asked about my computer...Main computer

Not sure what operating system you are running assuming it is a Windows one. SPAMWhen it comes to Unreal Tournament and Geforce 2 and above cards it is best to leave the graphic settings at there default and tweak them from with in the game rather then manually from the system.ini file in the Unreal Tournament subdirectory. SPAMManually tweaking the game for better graphics visually tends to mess up the game as the Geforce 2 cards don't like it. SPAMAll so the second CD that comes with Unreal Tournament is a waste unless you have a high end computer as it really does not improve graphics all that much visually on a Geforce 2 card and can cause a perfomance drop on some machines.
As you don't actually state what Geforce 2 card you are running I will assume it is not a MX card. SPAMOver all Unreal Tournament should run smooth and be superior to your old Voodoo 3 card, as I owned one a few years back and got into the Nvidia market for graphic cards. SPAMI started by first upgrading to a Geforce 2 MX, I'm now running a Geforce 2 Ti in both cases I found the cards to be superior in both performance and graphics.
