i was wondering if there was a dos driver out for an external usb hard drive? SPAMi am trying to create an image of my hard drive onto an external usb hard drive. SPAMi am using power quest 5.0. SPAMdoes anybody know if it is compatible to do this or if there is another software that can do this? SPAMany help would be great. SPAMthanks

Hi jmarsh and welcome !

Not sure I totally understand the problem, but USB works only from within Windows and and mostly Win98 at that.
However there is such a driver as you request, click below and go look it over, it should do what you wish with power quest - maybe.

Symantec has a program called Norton Ghost that is pretty sweet, you can use USB to clone PC to PC but to my knowledge there are products out there that will write to an external USB device directly as most work only in DOS to which there are no DOS drivers for USB external devices

The only alternative I can think of would be to save the image to a hard drive or another computer and then from Windows use your USB CDRW to burn the image.

Good luck. I'm curious if you do find a resolon yn from DOS please do post it. It would enlighten us all.
