After months and even years of waiting the first dual processor Athlon platform is here with a new processor to boast as well. Find out how Dual Athlon MPs stack up to Intel's Xeon and find out about the successor to the 760MP that will be released later this year. Read the full article here. howdy,
I just purchased a new Dual Processor ...a Tyan s2462. Anybody find a power supply with a 24 pin and a 8 pin set of connectors to mate up to the mobo? Tyan only recommends a"Delta" and a "NMB". I'd prefer something else if I can find it.
I've tried to include an attachment (evidence) from Tyan.

I don't like dual processors any more... SPAMAt school, we just got a new video editing machine. SPAMDual XP 1800's, SCSI100, all the works. SPAMIt sounds wonderful, and it is, but alot of apps seem to run slower in it then my single Athlon 1.4. SPAMFor an example, opening Premiere on the school comp takes just about 1 minute. SPAMIt takes 7 seconds on my computer! SPAM:o (yes, both processors ARE working...it's just plain slow!)
I have also heard of incompatability issues, and things about these system being slower, somthing with more reasouces being used for the extra processor.

I've heard similar things as well. The biggest problem i think is most people need to be sure that the actual program they're running are multi-processor compatable. I have at least two programs now. AutoCad and 3D Studio Max. hopefully these will perform as advertized.

also they need to be sure the OS they are running is MP compatable as well.
