Remember a few weeks ago when I asked about my computer locking up? SPAMWell, it still is, and is the same or worse! SPAMIf you don't know what I'm talking about, my computer will lock up for like 1 or 2 seconds during a game, then continue. SPAMI think it's graphics related because the music keeps playing(and it's not CD music)

Here's everything I've tried...
Another soundcard(this really slowed my computer down, running insane's title screen at only half the speed)
No sound(this seemed to work, but there are times it will not lock up, so I need to test this more)
Tried having only 1 of my 2 RAM chips in
Had a PCI Voodoo3 video card insted of my AGP 4x GF2
Tied my GF2 at AGP 2x
changed about everything possible in my BIOS

I'm starting to run out of ideas. SPAMI plan on trying my only other stick of RAM(64M PC100) in my machine. SPAMI'll also try some more without the soundcard, but thats all I have left to try...

Here's a real catcher if you. SPAMMy old MB(KT7E) did the exact same thing(running a KT7A now!) SPAMI used alot of the same parts, but I have also tried to replace many of them, but still get the same results. SPAMIs there some major flaw with Abit's MB's? SPAMI have a Duron 850(on some Biostar MB) that runs Insane as well as my Athlon, and wont lock up!

Okay let's try to narrow this down. SPAMIs it one game in particular or multiple titles? SPAMWhat version of Direct X are you running. SPAMAlso do you have the latest and greatest drivers. SPAMMight have allready covered some of these but we should recheck those. SPAMBy the way have you kicked it lately SPAM??? . SPAM

Yes, I cracked the case I kicked it so hard >:(

Nah, I don't hit my(new) computers. SPAMI THINK I found the problem... SPAMI broke down and decided to take out my video card and replace it with my Vanta from my backup PC. SPAMOf corse, I havn't had a single problem other then low framerates in games... SPAMI'm alittle irritated that I didn't try this sooner(like when I could send back my GF2...)

I'm looking for another video card, but I'm trying to stay local sence I had some problems with online orders. SPAMAnd what if it I get another bad one...

make sure your cd is not scratched real bad, cuz if it is checking too make sure you have it and not just running the cd on another comp also.

that would also affect sound as games always keep atleast a few of the segments on cd and if it only was reading the cd fast enough for sound it would slow everything else.

What CD? SPAMAll of my games run directly off the HD. SPAMI know for sure it's the video card. SPAMIt's 2 days sence I removed it and put in this Vanta, and I've had absolutly no lockups!

1) mebbe change the agp settings in bios
2) see if its overheating

wrong agp settings can cause glitches
and overheating can cause it to freeze
