I am running a AMD Athlon XP 1900 and an ECS K7S5A mobo. SPAMI have Windows 98. SPAMWhen the computer boots up.it says I am only running at 1200 MHz, SPAMI should be running at like 1600. SPAMAny help?

First off, if it's hardware related (and this is) Post it in hardware, please :)

Go into your CMOS setup (DEL) @ post. And go to CPU PnP Setup. Then use the Page up and Page down and make Sure your CPU bus speed is set to 133. Make sure your ram (second number) is set to the speed of your ram

Yes, Uranium-235 is exactly right. Your motherboard accepts both 100MHz and 133MHz (DDR (all Athlons and Durons are DDR, not necessarily RAM but, yeah)) FSB CPU's. It defaults at 100, but Athlon XP's have a 266MHz FSB (133MHz DDR). On the CPU your using, it has a multiplier setting of 12, so when it is going with the default 100MHz FSB * 12 multiplier setting gives you the 1200MHz. What it is supposed to be is 133MHz FSB (Front Side Bus) * 12 multiplier setting giving a 1600MHz with a 1800+ (p-rating) rating.

It might not be under the PnP settings...for example mine isn't, but it should be the first menu.
