What kind of connector is on the end of the case fan wire? Is it the kind that would plug directly into the power supply or not?

Uranium's ques. is good, but here is a simpler version I think:
Is the plug made with 3 pin-holes and smaller than an average finger, or is does it have 4 pin-holes and is bigger than an average finger.

If it is the 3 pin connector, there will be a plastic things that it would fit against perfectly with three pins, which should be somewhere near the processor.

If it is the 4 pin connector, it will plug into your power supply.
