That's terrible. I just loved that one SO much.
Just checked this http://www.beincorporated.com/press/...complaint.html , I wasn't surprised
Lucky me I've burned BE 5.0 pe on CD

Re: lilili Hottest OS pool ililil
Never messed with BEOS so have no clue there.
FreeBSD was my first flavor of *nix, I have played with Mandrake and RedHat but always end up back at FreeBSD.
Mac OSX is pretty sweet for Macintosh, and the new IMAC looks cool but still don't think I'll ever swing in that that direction.
Once there are enough apps etc that work in the *nix gui I'll be all about FreeBSD & KDE no more windoze well Microsoft anyway.

Re: lilili Hottest OS pool ililil
teh hottest probably for the computer literate peple will be linux or somehting similar, but i tink that some windows OS will still be number 1 b/c of all the computer illiterate poeple out there. that, and microsoft has so many deals with stores and ther companies taht it will be hard to get rid of them.

Re: lilili Hottest OS pool ililil
For the next few years at least and for sure next release, MS has the market in their fist, after that linux will take over, but the compatibility issues will be linux's fall because as the compatibility is widened, the components will have to be made more general and split up more, making it more like windows, and will not be crash proof. going against every thing my teachers taught me about run-on sentences. wheew (long breath with panting :P-my dog taught me that one)
also, dont forget linux isn't hacker proof either :'(, it has a hole the size of he grand canyon right there in the kernel, oh wait, i think i can see it from here :'(

Re: lilili Hottest OS pool ililil
Well, obviously not all linux clones have such a hole. kernel changes from OS to OS, isn't it ?
about compatibility, well every HW piece today has +- stable drivers for linux. I voted for Solaris and not sth linux, only cause unfortunately free OS has no future (it's just in human nature. - FREE ? And how much that gonna cost ??).

Re: lilili Hottest OS pool ililil
i dont think the kernel changes, cuz then i dont think it would still be linux, but a modded linux. maybe you right, but either way it is in the part ( if it isn't the entire kernel that is the same) that is the same. the hole is there.
but with drivers, i dont get why the cant just make programs to convert the format then the commands so that they can use windows drivers or something. you'd think that would work
