Who wants a Green PC

NEC made a computer that can be recyclable, not like today's PCs.
But get this it costs about $1500 for a Cursoe 900mhz chip

i doubt it'll cell much in the US. its too slow. if the crusoe was faster in performance, maybe they would anticipate more sales. the sales will most likely stay in places where space is more limited. the green features are neat tho.

Of course it won't sell that much here cause we want speed and that computer doesn't have it. Also the cost of it will be a hinderence to many people.

Lol, there's no way I'd ever buy that...I think it satisfies me to know that I'm sucking down more power than the entire rest of my house...and probably more than any individual on the rest of my city block uses. Well, maybe that doesn't satisfy me, but it sure doesn't bother me enough to go pay over a thousand dollars extra to buy a slower computer than either of my current two. If it performed exactly the same as an AMD XP 2200+ and cost like, $50 more, but used like, 1/8 of the power, I still wouldn't buy it...but that's because I'm cheap like that. For the first time like, ever, I paid extra to have something shipped to me faster than the slow-ass-lama-shipping (I paid an extra $3 to get 3-day, rather than ground, and believe me I had to think hard about that one. I probably did it because subconsiously I thought it'd make my hard drive get here faster...).

If it had a Athlon or a P4, then I would buy it. The price would need to go down by a couple hundred of dollars, though.

The power my computer uses is negligent to the power of the home theater, so it isn't where my focus would be. What I would pay for is a speaker that had a driver that pushed out more than 200dB/watt/meter, but then again, I wouldn't turn the stereo down, I'd just have it stay twice as loud. So basically what I'm saying is, for me, it wouldn't be practical. We are pretty energy conscious otherwise. And I agree that we should develop more nuclear powerplants.

Anyways, what's the point of trying to conserve energy if energy companies like Enron are just going to play games with it?

One problem with having more nuclear plants, where do you store the waste from the plants? If we had more green power plants, we wouldn't have the waste, pollutants, etc to worry about.

Well the ocean is where some of it goes without us knowing, but that doesn't help anyone but the person dumping it into the ocean.

I don't think that we can wait until we have cold fusion. It will be a couple of decades until we have that. Try using geothermal energy, or even wind and the sun. What would be the best type of powerplant is a Hydrogen power plant. It uses water, so there is no pollution from it.
