The Ti4200 is a good card. Usually these problems come up because the owner or installer does not completely remove all the old vid drivers form the system and registry before installing the new vid card. If you have the detenator destroyer files, they pretty well give instructiions as to the removal of all the driver files. If you do not have these files. Reformat and install the OS fresh and then install the vid card last.
Since yours is less than 30 days old. I you may return it for a refund, or exchange for another vid card.
You could get the Ti4600. Or you could do as accurateimage says and get the best of the best with the Radeon 9700 Pro.
The place you purchased the Ti4200 may not have the 9700 is stock. If you decided on this route. You should get a refund, place your old vid card in your system, and wait a couple weeks for the 9700's to be more available.
I really think this is a driver problem. If you do a fresh install of Windows, and install the video card with the latest drivers, you shurely will have no problems.

The asus P4T533 helps, are you running Rambus or do you have the DDR model? How much memory do you have installed in the system. Please post the remaining components, something like my signature. Thanks BJ

Also note that the detonator 40 drivers are beta, and I have notice a few anomolies after installing them, I would get rid of them and go to the wqrl certified 30.82 drivers, they are rock solid.

If you wish to visit www.rage3d.com and go to thier forum. You can find instructions as to the best way to remove vid card drivers from XP. If this is of any help, try it. Anyway hope the system is running great now.
