Who makes the best cdr's..?? The stuff I have been bying locally is JUNK! "GQ brand 40X certified" I am lucky to get every other disk, the TDK stuff is rock solid but cannot afford it in the small quantity packages they sell locally. Anyone know of a good online local store that sells very very good 48X disks..??? I am looking to buy a 100 pack of good stuff. Man I tell ya stay away from the GQ crap!

Does your burner have burnproof? This technology is the best feature I have ever had on a cdrw. Before burnprooof, I had a coster one out of every 3 disks. Since burnproof I have not had any coasters at all. This spans a period of over a year. I use PNY cdr & memorex cdrw, have not had a problem. I purchased the 200 count of pny cdr at circuit city for $65.00 and had a $60.00 mail in rebate. Not bad for 200 cdr. I purchased two of them one in my name and the other my wife purchased in her name. Each of them was a different offer, different time frame, so no problems with two rebates at the same address. I have never opened the last box of 200 yet. Have about half the first box remaining.

Yes mine does have burnproof, but it is the stupid crappy quality disks, has nothing to do with the burner, I proved it by trying 10 of the 48x tdk disks, all of them were 100% clean burned, with the GQ I get about 1 in 3.

Wierd, I've used GQ for a long time and they've worked %90 of the time for me. Although I hate the new 40X's cause my burner thinks they're 16X (burner max is 24X).

The only ones I have been having massive problems with are the 40x certified disks. They also seem to vary greatly in quality from one pack to the next and also use different material for the plastic about every other pack. The first pack I could bend a goofed disk in half without breaking, the next pack bending even partway would shatter the disk, the latest pack is very floppy and loose meaning the coating cracks and falls off at the smallest bend. I have never had a yamaha or TDK disk go bad yet so I have yet to see of they are consistant. I have heard the company called "mitsui" makes the best cdr's out there is that true or does anyone know...??

TDK is actualy in the med pricing range
and Maxell is high without discounts and stuff
i still can not forgive the canadian government for putting levy on CDRs and CDRWs

Finally found an awsome disk that really performs for less $!!! The disks I am talking about are the new fuji 48x certified. I have yet to make a coaster and they are the fist disk to run past 50x on my kenwood 72x drive which will not even read the crappy GQ disks I was running "the kenwood 72x does not like burned disks at all just pressed so for it to read a burned disk at this speed is amazing!". The disks are very consistant and very very well packaged, I bought 100 of them for $29.99 at my local fried electronics. Also they do overburn to around 82 minutes and will run the full 48x with 0 prob. The dye they use is very cool for it is a shiny dark green and when you burn you can definitly see the burn ring very very clear "light green" so I know that data is being put on the disk very well, with the GQ disks the dye sucks so you have to hold it in the light to see the ring.
