On desktop ? I hate having a bunch off stuff on my desktop.

Good thing would be learning to use explorer

or to get WindowsCommander (ghisler.com)
to handle files, open archives etc.

all my downloads goto my desktop... from neomodus (direct connect), mozilla, IE, kazaa (when i look if i can change the folder) etc..

i download to the desktop, install/do whatever with it then file it under my docs\downloads which contains numerous sub-folders like 'games', 'internet', 'web' etc... most of which have even more subfolderim very organsed :)

though my music goes to my music... and same with movies ;)

I've got five icons on me desktop and so it shall be. "Thou it madness, there is method in it", is the best way to describe my directory structure. Drivers and everything is broke out by computer in my "To Burn" folder ( so I remember to back them up to cd before my next format C:) Then my music is broke up into number music cd folders each one ends about 650mb and a new one is started. I got folders everywhere, but I can find what I need. With 2/3rds of my 40 gig maxtor loaded keeping strait at all is an accomplishment I feel.

I download everything to the desktop because it is so much easier to see when it is done loading. After that I place them in other folders in my HD.
