Floppy Drive not working

whenever i try to copy something to a floppy i get a message saying it cant do it because of an "I/O device error"

Any ideas?

possible bad floppy/drive? floppy cable might not be fully connected?

I get those with bad floppy disks and cable problems.

belive it or not i have fixed more than one floppy drive problem by switching the cable around. sometimes this requires going against the tounge and groove. i would try it though
