yeah that is annoying, wish they kept things under wraps, then released it and shipped same day, that would kick some butt on intel. Cannot wait for the 3000+

I don't fully understand the method of what is going on with AMD.
The XP2400's are just beginning to be available at venders (pricewatch.com) etc.
The 2600's are available through hi end gaming system builders, but not through venders.
AMD is going to make the 2700's & 2800's available starting Dec this yr. Supposedly available to all Jan & Feb 2003.
Looks as if the prices of the 2200 new version, 2400 & 2600 are going to have to be sold short in order to retail the 2700 & 2800 line.
Very few persons will want the 2200-2600's when the 333fsb stuff is available, unless they make the price low enough for people to go ahead with the purchase of the older chip. Since most of these are supposed to be unlocked, all would run as the other if need be??

They will probably drop the price allot on the 266fsb chips just like they did when the frist 266fsb came out over the 133 chips. I think the are in such a hurry to beat or keep up with intel they are announcing way before they are actually in production just to get the word out amd is equal or ahead which is what stick in most peoples minds "amd has a cip that competes with the 2.8ghz intel" That is even going through my mind even though I cannot own one yet.

well they are holding their 2700+ before they can sell more 2400+ and 2600+
they arent very good at keeping these things as secrets unline Nvidia
Nvidia keeps their lips very tightly sealed about future products usually
so prevent damages to their market line and strategies
so does BMW, i talked to a friend who works at the BMW
he is the director for the technical server department for the west coast of canada
last year he gave me some hints about their future 5 year marketing strategies but kept his lips still tight on specific details...
