I have an msi mb'

512 ram
radeon 9000
1.5 ghz p4

what could i do to improve this system in a nocticble way.

(or accesroies cd burners etc)

edit

also my mother borad has the option for high performance defaults....

Should i turn this on or leave it on regular?

Idunno, you could always get a new monitor (although you didn't discuss that). A radeon 9700 would probably provide some noticable performance gains, and a higher clocked P4 might as well, but probably to a lesser extent.

Additionally, you could always go for a DVD burner...a nifty peripheral to have.

well sounds like he just got a new card not long ago

and system is made to fit his budget as it seems

so i would start with overclocking a bit
but dont do anything yet until you have done neccessary researches

ahh.. the "optimized" mode.. go ahead and try it it shouldnt hurt.. if it does just go back to regular.. i dont think you can overclock with that bios.. read the manual and see if you can do it with switches on the mboard.. if not then consider a p4 1.6 and a new mboard * have 1.6 and asus p4t533-C.. i oc to 2.4 easily
