well not here but... in the cyberworld which you are in at the moment

http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/gf4/nv28-nv18.html

The NV28 must certainly be comparable in price with the current Ti 4200. I think that advantages of the AGP8x won't bring tangible benefit as compared with the AGP4x.

BUT! If, even next year, games start using texture volumes over 100-150 MB for a scene or the increased AGP throughput is used more intensively, the current NV18/NV28 will get a second wind and be able to lift up their performance level (by that time the Ti 4200 will probably become a low-end solution).

the ati 9000 performed pretty well

yes, in this particular comparison, it did perform well

but i think buying Geforce3 Ti500 is a better choice than Radeon 9000

na, I would just save a buy the 9700. If not the 9700 then get the card that ati brings out after the nv 30 launches

im talking budget wise

not everyone can afford to spend almost 400 bucks on a graphics card you know

If you can afford a gf3 then why can't you SAVE more an get better.

Plus I never said to buy the 9000 i just said it performed well.

what i meant is alot of us have the money to buy alot of stuff we like to have

for example, i have about 10000 dollars in the bank now
yet im not planning on spending 400

because im SAVING for more important stuff than graphic cards

its not like im a millionaire and can be able to buy top of the line card without thinking my wallet is getting lighter

i didnt say u said to buy 9000

u said YOU would buy 9700

and i said I wouldnt

nice and simple

yeah i said to buy 9700 after you said to buy the gf3. Why not just buy a 4mb trident if your gonna buy something thats almost 2 yrs old.

nah gf3 isnt near 2yr yet

it performs better than 9000 yet cheaper
thats why its a better buy

Do you have any info on this "new" card ATI is coming out with after the NV30?

I did a search for R400 (ATI's next version) and all I can find was writer after writer stating that any specs on it are pure speculation. Interviews with ATI even reveal nothing because they are keeping a tight lid on it. So to say the R400 is better than the NV30 at this time is pure speculation because nobody knows anything.

If the R400 comes out shortly after or before the NV30 and proves to be a better performer than the NV30, nVidia still has the NV35 and NV40 hot on the heels to try and take the lead again. But again, it's ALL speculation. :)

wouldn't this be sweet:

21 September - The First Mention About RADEON 9700 with 256 MB of Memory

This German company states that there will be RADEON 9700 based graphics cards with 256 MB of DDR SDRAM. Although it was quite clear fact, now we are told this officially, we are sure that the appropriate graphics solution will appear.

We have no idea if extra 128 MB of memory will offer a lot of additional graphics power, but we are sure that this upcoming graphics card will cost quite a lot of money. We are also not sure if ATI itself will offer 256 MB videocards in the near future, hence, maybe the German company will also have to wait until NV30 comes and launch the board with more onboard memory just after the archrival hits the shelves in stores.

Well, maybe the RADEON 9700 PRO with 256 MB of onboard memory is ATI's way to fight Nvidia's NV30?

There not sure on either calling it the r350 or r400 or r???.

what german company?

ATI is canadian

it should still be called R300

chip hasnt changed, just the architect of the card basicaly
unless they want to change the chip as well

that would be sweet but until AGP16x is out, there is still bottleneck for the memory bandwidth

The latest news from ATI says the R350 and RV350 will be released the same time the NV30 from nVidia is realeased.
No mention of the R400 at all in this news release.

"SAVING" are you? That's why your machine specs you posted would be worth like a few grand and you must've just bought that because 2.8ghz just came out.
