:/ Just bought this card and begain overclocking, seemed to overclock fine but after 48hrs of Prime 95 had to back out all the overclocking. The graphics on my desktop started to smear but it would go away but always came back. I went up stepwise in 2mhz increments and back down again the same way. Any suggestions?

NewDawnTek, what core and memory speeds did you reach when you started having problems?

Sounds like it is heat soaking to me.... means your system is slowly heating up hotter and hotter and cannot carry away the heat it is generation...

Yea, that's was my thinking also but I didn't want to jump to conclusions till I knew the clock settings were.
I was gonna suggest using RAM sinks and a better HSF for the GPU.

True. That would be the first place to start.

one could buy a PCI slot fan
its good for cooling ram sinks on a card and adds additional air for the GPU cooler :)

have you ever seen the cfm ratings on the peices of junk..? *L* I bought one that was rated at 34cfm and put out around 2 *LOL* have tried several kinds and they all sucked horribly, if you are not useing any of your pci slots like me "darn near everything is onboard with the soyo dragon and is awsome quality" then take about 4-5 of the slot covers off and put in a 120mm fan, covers all the slot holes perfect and makes a near vacume in the case it suckes so much air! and since it is large and slow it is quiet! Had to remove the extra drive bay cover in my case it was sucking so much air *LOL* it was making a wistle sound!

Sounds like you were getting under-pressure there AI. Not good. Over/under pressure is not good for cooling.

no...
my friend had like 30 cfm from his 38 cfm rated fan
its actualy good
but yeah
a 120mm would be more superior but most ppl only have around 2 PCI slots left

that is why I opened the front bay slot free, dropped system temps around 2 degree F and 2-3 and somtimes even 4 degrees F in games for the processor temp :)

Well I have never seen a good review on the slot fans and the funny thing was the other day I saw this huge pci slot fan from this company, and they had one 1/2 the size with the same cfm rating and part # as the giant fan *L* they have no idea what they are selling *L*

I love the both of them, used to hate WD, but after using these drives for awhile I think they are worth every penny and they kill the speed of my od ata 133 drives. Did ya read my review of them..??
