nope it doesnt

it only take Athlons with Thunderbird cores even with new bios
unless you are talking about KA266-Plus or any of the Plus models which do support the newer XP CPUs

I already emailed the guy/gurl. I don't think he/she'll be coming back to the forums. So you posted for nothing.

Hi folks,
well, I mailed Uranium235 about this, but here's the link anyway...

So it does support it?!?

that is the KA266-R
by definitions of the ALi Magik chipset, it does support Athlon XP processors up to 2100+
but it really depends on the motherboard makers that write up a bios to support it
from the look of that review provided by U-235, it seems to take it

Sorry if I seem a little dumb, but I checked out the manual, and I can't see any difference. Is there something I should see?

thiers might be a different hardware reversion out there that allows XP
if your manual says Regular Athlon, that that's probably the best you can do, sorry
Okay. But hpothetically, what jumper settings would I use to fit a 2000+? I'd have to slightly "underclock" it, wouldn't I? How would I do this?

the problem wouldent be the clock, it would be the voltages. And even at that the bios might reject it
So there's definitely no way to do it? What about the link I posted (few posts above...) where the guy stuck a 1700+ into a KA266? He explains how he did it but I'm a bit new to all of this :/ Any ideas?

I'm guessing thiers a different HARDWARE reversion that might support XP.
You could look at who wrote the article and email him/her about it also
I'm after the same answer too, I'm running an Athlon XP 1600+@1800+, and i know it can take an Athlon XP 1900+, but even the multiplier on the board only goes to 12.5x which is only enough to just under an athlon XP 2000+, and even the FSB overclocking doesn't go further than and Athlon XP1800, so I dont think it will work with an XP 2100, but I will try it soon anyways.
