I'm kinda in a bind here. A friend owes me some cash, so he offored to buy me a new MB instead. Well, it turns out the new MB is as very close to my current one. So...which is a better gamming PC?Transend TS-ALR4 w/ 256M PC2100(DDR) or my Abit KT7A with 256M PC133? I kinda plan to keep my Abit, as it has a better known chipset and is a better brand, AND dosn't have onboard sound...but I'm just curious...

Yes...but also consider, I lose my SB Live, or have extra crap on the MB that's never used(SOUND) By a unheard of brand, with an unheard of chipset... Those are my main reasons to stay away from it.

Also, I remember the time my friend began to brag that his XP1800 with a GF4 MX440 and 256M DDR2100 was SO much faster then my setup. LOL...he got about 16FPS in UT2003, I got around 60! May of been more...

Yeah the MX440 is the key there. MX is a budget card and not geared toward high preformance. Radeon 8500...is

But about 4 times faster? I hear people playing UT2003 on GF2s, and it running full speed.

Well, I may not get that MB after all... Good deal, but I'll have to spend more money for RAM and such. Also, I think my car needs some attention now. That rattle under then hood can't be good ;)
