I'm planning on getting a really nice cordless phone, possibly requesting one as a Christmas gift, but I'm not exactly sure what I should look into. I have a basic list of some things I want:
-Caller ID on the handset
-Call waiting caller ID on the handset (optional)
-Caller ID on the base station (optional)
-Speakerphone on the handset
-Speakerphone on the base station
-Keypad on base station (optional)
-Backlit LCD & keypad on the handset
-Mute on the handset
-Headset compatable handset (optional)
-2-line operation (optional)
-Li-ION battery (optional)
-NO answering system built in (optional)

Yeah, now that I look at it some more of those things are optional than I marked, but I'd rather not stray too far from that list. I'm pretty sure I want either 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz, but I really don't know the technology that well, so I'll likely be easily swayed some way. Here's some things I've been considering:
-Panasonic KX-TG2237S (http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/shop/NewDesign/ModelTemplate.asp?ModelId=15202&show_all=false&product_exists=True&active=1&ModelNo=KX-TG2237S&CategoryId=2968)
-V-Tech 5831 (http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechui/shop/productdetail.cfm?itemid=404)
-V-Tech 2431 (http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechui/shop/productdetail.cfm?itemID=215)
-V-Tech 20_2431 (http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechui/shop/productdetail.cfm?itemID=398)

Ideally I'd rather not be spending up near $200 on this, but let's hear what you have to say on the subject.
