Tom's Hardware (http://www17.tomshardware.com/cpu/20021216/index.html) seems to have done the impossible by overclocking a P4 to 4.1Ghz.... and made it stable.
"Compared to overclocking with liquid hydrogen, where systems will only operate stably for a few minutes beyond 4000 MHz, our solution is perfectly suited for everyday use and can be used in a professional environment. This is proved in spectacular fashion by the 30 different benchmarks."
