Anyone had problems getting a Hercules Prophet 4500 to work nicely?
I'm using it in:
Elite K7S5A with AMD XP2000+
256 Meg DDR RAM

Its a 64 meg vid card, and registers as such in DXDiag, but when I run games, even old ones, it produces a slow frame rate and massive artifacts/random polygons.

Any ideas about diagnostic programs or patches - there's not much on the manufacturers websites, and I've got the latest BIOS for the mobo and driver for the vid card.

I just moved this to hardware

anyways. I have the same MB, did you get the AGP drivers by any chance?

I used to have that card until recently, it ran fine on the drivers provided with it, but when i upgraded to the most recent ones it ran terrible, I had poor fps and I found the image often freezing up for a second or two before carryong on. I had tried quite a few drivers for that, and it seems the more recent they get... the less bugs they have but the worse the performance get.

sorry I cant offer any real advice....

Theres only one driver available on the Hercules site + I got that one. Likewise, theres only one update on the mobo site for the BIOS and I got that too.

Assuming you have Windows98 or WindowsME. Here's the SiS agp 0.9 drivers for those OS's
