I have been a CNE since version 3, and am working on updateing from CNE 5 to 6. I also have taken the MCP test for Windows 2000 Server and passed. I would say this about the testing - Novell wants to know that you learned the material AND that you have the ability to put what you learned together to solve problems. The one MS test I took seemed more like they didn't care what you really knew, they just wanted to see if they could trick you into picking the wrong answer. I learned a whole lot more about networking from Novell than anyone else, and it's not necessarily vendor specific, either. I feel like I learned something with the CNE, but not so with the MCP.

I can only confirm the things about MCSE exams, and that's sad because I've invested lots of time and some money for wrong certification SPAM>:(
Just hope some knowledge from /\/\icro would help me with Novell cert, as you say it's not necessarily vender specific
