:/Dear Friends...

I am having problem with the speed of my internet connection...
I have recently purchased P-IV System, and having 56K modem in it, with WinXP as OS..
Now the problem is .. my net connection speed never increase from 19200 kbps or sometimes it goes to 21600 ..
which by no means is a considerable speed.
Can someone tell me.. what is getting wrong..and how should i configure my modem to utlize all its capabilites to atleast go to more than 40000 kbps.?
i have tried various ISPs as well.. but the speed is still same  ..my phone line is working properly too.

Modem: Inter(r) 537 Data/Fax v.90 Modem (56K)
MotherBoard: D845 GBV (Intel)
Processor: 1.7 GHz (intel)
Ram: 128 (DDR)
OS: Win XP

Looking forward to hear from you people soon..I'll be grateful for your kind replies... :)

:shake: Also when i was installing its derivers, windows told me that this product is not having any windows XP Logo Lisence. Is this making any problem?

Thanking you in anticipation...
Tahir

Well are there any other applications that you are running while your connected that could be eating your bandwith?

No sir, there is no other application that is eating up my bandwidth...i simply connect to internet...only have nortron anti-virus internet security in my system...
but the speed was even the same on win 98 os, with this p-iv system but
when i was having p-II system on the same phone line with win 98 ..it worked very well..
therz something wrong in modem configuration? or what
thanks

Make sure you have the right drivers.

I would suspect something in your line wiring. Although you claim your phone line is working properly, old wiring, or improper, or substandard, wiring in, or to, your home can significantly affect data speeds over phone lines. If you can figure out how to get it done for free, you might want to have someone from the phone company take a look.

and for dialup, try not let the line run too long
