heh nice topic to start with but im actualy referring to my Athlon 1.2GHz tbird 133 fsb received its first OC lastnite

OC, not BJ

anyways
lol

my mobo sux
bios locked the multiplier
even with DIP 10 on

anyways
with a mechanical pencil in my hand, i was ready to unlock the CPU
but it was factory unlocked when i checked

surprise surprise

ok
i got to 156fsb x 9 (default multi) = 1400 MHz so thats a pure 200 MHz OC just with fsb and NO vcore change

good thing is my friend tricked my bios with jumpers
he changed some DIPs and voila
its at 10

10.5 wasnt stable enuf

anyways
my friend and i got to 146x10 = 1466

it seems like my cheapy PC2100 ram held up pretty well

:) :) :) :D

keep dropping the multiplier and shooting up the fsb if your ram and mobo can take it! mhz does not mean to much when going for a high score, fsb does though hehehe :) Also you should be around 8,000 at least on 3dmark...

do u think a heat spreader is needed for the ram?

ok it got unstable at that speed

so my friend lowered it down to 10x140

but i thought i can get to 1400 just with fsb so why not go back to 9x multi or 9.5
so i lowered it

now its at
150x9.5
so 1434

should i get ram heatspreader or its not that crucial?
its PC2100 ram
but running at 300MHz now...
so 40MHz of ram OC

When i saw the title i was thinking of the commonly hacked "Boundless Virgin WebPlayer" from i-appliance.

I read a 90-some page thread on peoples experiences hacking the Virgin.
