Hey guys, im kinda new to overclocking so i could use some help

i have an amd 2100+ that is stock at 1.73

i have already overclclocked the FSB to 142 making it somewhere around 1.84. I know you can overclock voltages, but im not sure what to do about that, my normal vcore voltage is around 1.73

i have a MSI KT3 mobo with a kt333 via chipset and a msi NB cooler on it.

i have 256 of pc2100 ddr ram with heat spreaders on it

id appreciate multiple responses so that i can overclock a little more. thanks!

also, i have a volcano 7+ set to medium running fan speeds around 5100-5300 RPM.

cover your ears!!! i had a 5400 rpm and i about died so i went back to my stock fan and i'm at 2700 rpm and overclocked 800 mhz and doin fine.. I have a vcore thing in my bios.. dont know if you do.. just add on to it bit by bit until you are satisfied.. i didnt need to add voltage so I'm not much help. :shake:

changing the vcore is for stabability when overclocking to higher clocks

Ah but he has amd, heat plays a BIG part is stability of amd processors, I would crank the fan to high and run that chip at a minimum of 1.85V which I concider safe, then play around with overclocking it :)

Also remember that ddr your useing is gonna hold ya back big time from making your system scream, I would reccomend corsair pc3200 for your application, you can run it super aggressive on the timing and have plenty of FSB headroom!

You should be able to run at 147x2 or 146x2 with ease if you do not have anything in the pci slots for I do not think that board has dividers and it makes it unstable.... Also what video card do you have.??? Since there is no pci lock or agp lock then you have to be carefull not to run the agp to crazy out of spec, remember when you raise the fsb you are also raising the pci buss speed and also the agp! If you have an nvidia card you can usually run them up to as high as 79mhz instead of 66 and if you have ati you can usually run them as high as 72 peak. But pci devices usually crap out on ya at anything past 36mhz...

Running the Volcano 7+ at high speed has no effect on temps compared to med speed.

That's why my volcano 7+ is collecting dust now and I'm using a Heat Pipe instead.

that sucks... yeah I prefere the heat pipes also :) Mine rocks! Especially after the fan upgrade, the stock fan was just a little weak...

okay cool. btw my mobo maxes out at pc2700 ram unfortunately...

okay so just simply raise the vcore voltage? its at 1.73 you say 1.85 i should have it at? okay ill do that.

yea i know the ram is going to hold me back. anybody know where i can find some cheap 512 pc2700 ram? id appreciate it

my video is the 128mb agp ddr 4x version of my avatar. :-)

i got a sound card, a network and a modem in my pci. so someone tell me exactly what you want me to do and ill test it out, aside from setting my volcano 7+ to high cuz thats just silly i heard that thing sounded like a damn jet engine
