S3 has a new graphics chip that can outperform the current GPUs from ATI and Nvidia. This is what they are saying.

bleh. just another company doing what Matrox tried to do. And failed.

What seperates them from NVidia is

1). Options
2). Drivers

NVidia UMA drivers are so easy to deal with and I've almost never had problems with them

the Sabre chip now is trying to bump into the play but still not strong enuf

it all depends on if the company has a strong financial background to provide a stronghold for the support

Your remarks are on the button. They are a company that hasn't really done anything for the past year or two. Now they want to bet the two leading GPU companies, no way. Those two have enought money to last a long time. I am not sure where S3 stands with their finances, but i bet not as good as the other two.

"Another DeltaChromeX9m feature sure to garner notice is its integrated Hi-Def TV encoder. The technology can send 1080 progressive lines of resolution to a high-definition display."

Yeah, that's going to be key. I would venture to guess that most people interested in cutting edge games utilizing DX9 aren't going to be playing them on a laptop. (I suppose it can't hurt to have, though ;).) S3 seems to be to ATI, as ATI is to nVidia.

Nice I wouldn't need another card to HD.
